Raw Cashew Nuts

Robust International’s distinguishing factor lies in our effective management of the supply chain. Our procurement starts directly from the origin where we engage farmers to transport pre-inspected goods to our processing houses and warehouses. In the mission to ensure that the highest quality product is delivered to our customers at competitive prices, Robust International Group invests heavily in state-of-the-art drying facilities and world class warehousing logistics.

These are present in all the African countries we operate from, which are the largest exporters of RCN in the world. This process allows us to mitigate any quality-related risks and maintain a consistently high quality in each and every shipment, thereby facilitating our ability to deliver first class goods to our customers through timely shipments.

Cashew Kernels

Cashew kernels are exported from Vietnam and India to the topmost kernel importing countries like Europe, USA and Australia where most of the global demand is concentrated.

Robust Group is also pursuing the creation of value downstream through setting up processing plants in Vietnam thereby increasing synergies through efficient upstream and downstream integration.

Shea Nuts

Shea nuts are obtained from the Vitellaria paradoxica, more commonly known as the “shea trea” which is indigenous to many parts of Africa. The shea nut is the seed of the fruit of the shea tree. The fruit portion is typically removed to retrieve the hard-shelled nut, which is further de-shelled to separate the nut from the outer shell. The nuts are then crushed, roasted, ground, gradually soaked in water to separate the essential oils, boiled and subsequently cooled in order to extract the main by-product, unrefined shea butter.

Women in Africa have traditionally played a critical role in the oil extraction process of the shea nut kernel, as this is typically a manual process. Shea butter is largely used in the cosmetics industry for skin and hair-care related products such as moisturizers, lotions and soaps. It is sometimes used as a base for certain specific medical salves and creams. Shea butter is also an ingredient used in the chocolate manufacturing industry.

Soya Beans

Soybean is a species of legume (Glycine max) native to eastern Asia. Soybeans are a staple food for people all over the world, so demand tends to be high. It is classified as an oilseed rather than a pulse due to its high oil content and its more popular use as a source of vegetable oil and industrial applications such as biodiesel. Soybean is one of the most versatile crops grown around the world. It has a raft of applications including a source of vegetable oil for human food and industrial uses, as a valued protein source in livestock production, for use in preparing a range of human foods such as traditional foods like tofu and soy milk as well as novel uses as a protein isolate and for textured protein. Soybean also has an almost endless application in industrial products such lubricants, plastics, waxes and a range of intermediate chemicals including fatty acids.
